Releases: whitep4nth3r/fretonator
New Tuning Configurator!
You can now change the tuning of the fretboard to DADGAD and Drop D as well as standard.
This functionality is purposefully disabled on learn/patterns for ease of content explanation.
The NotePlaybackService has also been updated to accommodate for the updates to the tunings.
Happy jamming!
Fretonator has DARK MODE!
Fretotonator now has dark mode, and your preference is saved in your browser.
Happy dark mode jamming!
The Fretonator Learning Hub is live!
-
The Learning Hub has been launched, with core content on standard mode patterns and the 3 Note Per String method.
-
User-facing improvements have been made to the usability of the Fretonator fretboard, including showing fret numbers below the fretboard (especially helpful on mobile) and removing the 0.9 opacity of the notes on the fretboard.
-
Under the hood, the fretboard has been moved to its own component to allow for the fretboard to be used anywhere in content posts, and you can now specify if you want the fretboard to response to case sensitive fret maps (to specify the high or low E string).
-
Lots of small styling optimisations have also been released.
Happy jamming!
Contact form, home page improvements, and more!
-
Contact form: Noticed a bug? Got an idea for a feature? Want to collaborate? Or just want to say hello? I'd love to hear from you. Send me a message!
-
The home page has been rejigged to follow the pattern of the home page hero:
- CHOOSE A STARTING NOTE
- PICK A MODE
- CHECK OUT THE FRETBOARD
- HAVE A JAM
- LEARN THE THEORY
- I'm sure there are lots of other small things to mention, but they escape me right now.
12/24 Fret toggle + related modes info
You can now toggle between a 12 or 24 fret fretboard view (works best on desktop, obviously).
When viewing a non-theoretical standard mode (Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aolian, Locrian), you can now read about the standard modes that share those patterns and quick-switch to those modes.
Small refactors have also been done to enable scale playback functionality in a future release.
The Fretonator has audio playback!
Thank you to @elliottbrooks for adding sound to the Fretonator!
More enhancements to this feature are planned including adding a 'play mode' feature.
Post Alpha Updates
The Fretonator now identifies theoretical scales, provides some supporting information and a link to the enharmonic alternative to make things simpler for the player.
Meta data and open graph data now updates dynamically according to the selected configuration.
