[Bug]: init operate error:No module named graphrag.index.__main__; 'graphrag.index' is a package and cannot be directly executed #1398

Do you need to file an issue?

  • I have searched the existing issues and this bug is not already filed.
  • My model is hosted on OpenAI or Azure. If not, please look at the "model providers" issue and don't file a new one here.

in my local env,i install python2.7 and python 3.10,i use python3 to init oper,but shows error in title,but i am sure graphrag has installed

pip install graphrag==0.1.1
could solve your problem

GraphRAG 0.4.0+ creates a proper package, so the command becomes graphrag init --root ./ and then graphrag index --root ./
