Hosting a LAN Hotspot Without Connection to the Internet #1731
-
Hello, I recently came across RaspAP while working on setting up an on-the-go server to host all my applications. I wanted a solution that could broadcast a hotspot and allow full configuration through a user-friendly interface like the RaspAP web GUI. I’ve successfully installed RaspAP using my wlan0 WiFi interface, which is currently connected to my home network. However, after rebooting, I was expecting to connect to the access point and be able to navigate to the GUI but it was still connected to my home network. The hotspot doesn’t appear in my network list, likely because the interface is already connected to the home network (which I don't want). What I want to achieve is an isolated LAN setup (essentially a router with no WAN), so that only devices connected to the hotspot can communicate with each other. From my understanding, this should be possible with just one network interface. If anyone can provide guidance on how to configure this, I’d greatly appreciate it! |

It's possible but not recommended (or supported) https://docs.raspap.com/ap-sta/ |

Is your goal a WLAN only without internet connectivity? If so, yes RaspAP supports this. Disconnect your device from your home network and start the AP. Connect clients to it, done. |
